When people add entries to a blog page they have created on the internet, they are said to be blogging. This blog page serves the same purpose as a diary or journal although it is open to the public to view its contents. The entries that can be added on a blog page can be as many as the author or blogger wishes. Bloggers have a wide variety of topics to choose from and they can write on any topic they are interested in. Since it is their personal blog entry, Bloggers are free to write about anything they want and they are not limited by any factor. They can be professional, personal or even political and can be as long or short as the author wants. Readers also have an option of subscribing to the page ensuring that they get updates on the page when it happens.

Blogging can be done for pure fun or it can also be a person’s source of livelihood. This can be done by activating features such as AdWords or Adsense that will allow search engines to place advertisements on the blog page and the blogger gets paid for every visitor that goes to that website. Originally, the only reason why bloggers posted blog entries was to share information with other people and to have fun doing it. Nowadays, this has changed and even corporate blog pages are being created in an effort to create a communication channel between company owners and their clients. Buyers are able to review products they bought and share their individual experience with other buyers. In addition, potential buyers also get to see what other people think of the products before the buy them and they trust them because they are not the manufacturers and therefore do not gain anything by marketing the products.

Blogging does not necessarily have guidelines that it requires to follow but people who are doing it to earn a living should present their blogs in an interesting way so that people are attracted to their blogs. Authors should ensure that their blog pages have attractive titles and content that marries with the title itself and should also leave room for readers to leave their comments after reading the blogs. Blogging also involves classifying content into groups or categories based on what they are about to make it easier for readers to find what they are looking for. It is also important for blog pages to be dated so that a reader knows that they are reading current information. However, posts can be updated to make them more recent and in tune with what is going on.

What Is A Personal Blog About?

Written by admin on February 24th, 2010

Everyone blogs, or at least that is the way it seems – the internet if full of millions of blogs covering just about every subject under the sun (and even some that are not!). The internet has been in existence for 40 years and although it seems much longer, blogging has been around for a little over 10 – something people find hard to believe when the see how widespread its popularity is. The word blog is an abbreviation of the phrase “web log” ( the log being a kind of diary or personal record) and they first appeared in the late 1990s. In other words, the first blogs were personal blogs and the majority today is still the same.

A major hurdle for many new bloggers is that they do not know what subject to choose for their blogs because the do not know what subjects are already over exposed and what new subjects people will want to read about. This is not a cause for concern for the aspiring blogger because his personal blog can be about any subject at all, deal with it in any way and be written in any kind of style because the cyber world is filled with all kinds of people and there is nothing that can be blogged about that will not find an audience of some kind.A personal blog is often used as a vehicle for spreading awareness about little known issues the blogger is concerned about. Of course, one of the most popular uses of a personal blog is to spread awareness about a subject that is close to the heart of the blogger and which he feels is not as well known as it deserves to be. But personal blogs also deal with well known subject that make headlines every day because the bloggers feel that the full story is not being told or because they think that there is an aspect of the story that is being ignored or perhaps just to express their agreement or disagreement with popular opinion on it.

It is possible to make a living by being a blogger and a successful personal blog that because of the subject it covers or the style of the author, the type of discussion it generates, the people who respond to it or for any other reason has a large readership can sell advertising space and make money for the author. The personal blog can be used as a news medium to mobilize public opinion as has happened in places where press freedom is limited and the only way news can be disseminated is through the blogs of the people on the spot. But all this is secondary – the personal log is first of all a way for a person to tell the world what he has to say.

Basics Of How To Start A Blog Page

Written by admin on February 24th, 2010

Blogs have been used by many people to share their personal experiences, to advertise their products and others to simply keep their friends and family updated. In order for the blog to serve its purpose, it has to be started in the right way. Blogs can now be created for free by many providers and users use them to reduce their stress. Nowadays, the biggest reason why people start blog pages is so that they can make money. Finding the right provider is the first step in starting a blog. Templates are offered for free on most available blog providers. This makes it very easy for even beginners to create their own blog pages. After signing up with the provider, users simply choose the color scheme that they want based on the blog they are creating.

The next step in starting a blog after choosing the theme and color is making the page more personal by adding pictures, interests, name and any other features they feel will make it personalized. One can also add comment boxes, photo galleries, a members section as well as guestbooks to make the page more interesting. Most providers have these features included in their templates and they simply choose what they want to include on their pages and what they want to keep out. Bloggers can view other blog pages done by professionals and see how they can make their pages interesting as well. The next step is making a decision as to whether the status of the blog will be public or private. If it is private, internet users will have to join the site in order to view the content and no one else will have access. Other blog pages can also be created as public but other sections are password protected to be accessed only by members.

Post a few entries on the new blog page to see how the layout is and how the blog appears with content in it. Changes to the template can be made including font size, color and any other features that bloggers want. Bloggers can also change the background color and change the way features are arranged on their blog page. To do this, simply drag and drop the features to the new position that one wants them to be placed. At this point, the blog page should be good enough for the blogger and they can then start posting blog posts.
